German chancellor warns of far-reaching sanctions if Russia moves on Ukraine

Scholz visited Ukraine as part of a flurry of Western diplomacy aimed at heading off a feared Russian invasion that some warn could be just days away.

Olaf Scholz did not elaborate on specifics during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday but he did say that pledge a new round of financial assistance to Kyiv.
